Hampton Francher, who co-wrote the original, and Michael Green have written a script based on an idea from Francher and Scott.

If Lucy and Dektora from the game do not appear, this world will be a poorer place. (Ah, Lucy... gynoid crush of my high school days–though kinda jailbait, wasn't she? Only 14, and bizarrely a romance option for a middle-aged guy...)

My only question is "why?"

The original Blade Runner was a self-contained stylistic experiment that didn't call, let alone need, a sequel.

Its nerve-wracking (final) ending is so fondly remembered because of its uncertainty and mysticism. Using it as the starting point of a new story can only trivialize the original masterpiece, and I doubt anyone can best Vangelis' score, Syd Mead's art direction, and Rutger Hauer's final monologue.

Besides, organic robots never were my cup of tea.

Technically, with only a 4-year lifespan, all replicants are jailbait.

And yeah, I agree with FOF above. Making a Blade Runner sequel is like having a pizza after a four-course meal. No matter how good it tastes, it's always going to be too much.
